Moirologia in Mani, Greece

Fieldwork on laments (moirologia litt. "words on the destiny"). Mani peninsula is known for its rich tradition of laments. Many people say that this tradition is over, but fieldwork shows something quite different: if today women utter more rarely laments, men seem to keep this tradition alive in funerals as well as in gatherings.
